Diet Tips for Preventing High Cholesterol Levels
Current stressed lifestyles and rushed, unhealthy diets are important promoters of high cholesterol levels. We should always remember that the first step toward recovering our health and treating any medical problem should be a medical evaluation.
These tips expand on the recommendations of my cardiologist, and they could prove useful for keeping low cholesterol levels and, in general, a healthy lifestyle. Basically, we should start out by adopting better nutritional habits, including the following:
Eat more fiber and fruits, vegetables and whole cereals (maize, rice, wheat, sorghum, etc) because they promote lowering of bad LDL cholesterol levels, without affecting good HDL cholesterol. Prefer vegetables to fruits, though, because the latter usually contain higher concentrations of sugar.

How to Get Free Stuff by Using Drug Store Rebates
Now why would anyone want to spend money at a drug store chain like CVS, Rite Aid, or Walgreens to begin with? Looking at their store prices, it’s clear everything is ridiculously overpriced compared to that offered at supermarkets.
The reason why you would shop there - for the amazing drug store rebate deals that they offer (no, it’s not a scam). If you can learn to take advantage of drug store rebates, you will find yourself getting a lot of free stuff for your money and winding up with merchandise whose total retail value greatly surpasses what you spent out of pocket. Ever since I discovered and started actively using drug store rebates, my frugal living life has been transformed for the better. No longer am I paying shocking $3-4 dollars prices for ordinary household items like a roll of toothpaste.

12 Tips on How to be Happy
How to be happy may sound pretty much common sense, but it is not as easy as it sounds. If it is, there will be not so many desperate cases out there. Just think about the tens and thousands of people who take anti-depressants. Or think about the increasing number of divorce cases and the public spates that can ensue.
I have been searching for the answers to the question on How to be Happy for some time. Here is a list of 12 tips of what I have gathered, after pouring through books, talking to people, attending workshops:
Live In The Moment. How to be happy starts when you live in the moment. You do not worry about the future; neither do you complain about what is past. You see things as they are. When you live in the moment, you focus on the present. The most important moment is the here and the Now.

Get Rid of Your Wrinkles Faster
A couple of weeks back, I read an article in TIME magazine that discussed a new form of yoga for reducing aging. So much emphasis has been put on anti-aging and the market is huge for providers and practitioners because of today’s boomers.
I wondered if there really was anything new to this kind of yoga or if it really just meant for people to get back to their younger ages and make silly faces and movements with the cheek and face bones so that they are being exercised.
The focus of facial yoga from a marketing perspective is to help boomers reduce their wrinkles so they can look and feel more younger. And as it’s less painful than surgery and cheaper than Botox, it becomes an attractive thing. Also, there’s the huge social element of going to a facial yoga class once or twice a week, making silly faces and movements and then heading back home to daily life - call it a time to get away from the hustle and bustle of life that causes the wrinkles anyway.
Check out some of the facial expressions yourself and try them (it could even be a party game!).

Better Messages for Manifesting
Here are some of the most common pessimistic, shady, bad-habits of language we use which undermine our intentions - and some of the possible, more optimistic alternatives you might use to replace them:
Use powerful, active verbs in place of passive ones.
Avoid time-travel; you exist in the Present moment only. Joy only happens in the present. Now is the only timeframe you have to work with, so if you spend time in the past or fast-forward into the future, you are attempting — without success — to time-travel. Craft your messages of intention in the present tense by using affirmations with active, present tense verbs.
Stop abusing your memory by living in the past. Reliving past hurts keeps them living in the present. You are abusing your memory when you continually re-create the past in the Now. Each next future moment is a choice you are making; you are willfully deciding what to bring with you. Memories, good or bad, dragged along beyond their usefulness, and never laid to rest, are what we call baggage. Peace is sometimes the reward for letting things die.

Alex,
Thank you for including my Manifesting Tips! I haven’t contributed to a Blog Carnival in a long time — your Tuesday Tips idea stood out for as a strong concept. Having a specific day of the week to look for this feature is a very wise approach.

Alex, I agree that we need to eat right, especially as we grow older.
But, I don’t necessarily agree that more grains are good for you.
As we’ve changed our diets over the last two hundred years or so, we’ve graduated to eating more grains and carbohydrates, that has translated into higher incidences of obesity and heart disease.
What do they feed cows to fatten them up? Grain.
I think that given time humans will evolve to safely eat more greens and grains, but for some of the population, meat will always be preferable to grains. It’s a matter of genetics.
I grew up eating steak and eggs and still prefer them. My cholesterol is normal as is my blood pressure.
But, I have become addicted to sugar and carbs and have since gained a bunch of weight.
I know that if I cut the carbs and get more protein in the form of nuts, grass fed beef, free range chicken and wild Alaskan salmon, I will lose the weight naturally.
Did you know that the Inuit have the lowest incidence of heart disease?
They never eat vegies.
