in the present; to live in the here and now; to live this day.
None of us have a guaranteed ticket punched for tomorrow. This is not meant to be a pessimistic statement, just a statement of fact. What we are guaranteed, however, is this day. We shouldn’t miss the chance to live each day to its fullest and without regret. When we do live with regret, we tend to get stuck in the past and ignore what we have right now.
We should strive every day to tell our spouses and partners we love them. We should hug our children and tell them we love them, too. At work, we can look for opportunities to thank our co-workers and supervisors. In our quiet moments, we should celebrate and rejoice all of our personal victories – no matter how large or small.
The word tomorrow is dangerous because it implies today is not the right day to do what’s on your mind. Tomorrow suggests we can wait and let things develop on their own pace and timeline; not on our own. Using the word “tomorrow” too often silences our hearts’ desires by one more day.
Each day you are faced with these opportunities:
Today you can be a person of choice.
Today you can choose to tell the people in your life how much you love them.
Today you can choose to live as if it were your last day on this earth.
Today you can choose to confront your fears and take that first small step out of your comfort zone and into the area of growth and success that awaits you.
Today you can choose to live with a joyful and peaceful heart because you know, deep-down, you are worthy of asking for what you want, and receiving it.
Today is yours to conquer and begin to silence the fears echoing in your mind that have been reverberating with self-doubt for far too long and have kept you from being who you are meant to be.
While it’s true that just one day will not give you enough time to do everything you want to do, or to get everything you want to get, committing to living each day to the fullest will certainly begin the process.
Your value is not measured by what you have done in the past, or by what has happened to you, or by where you have come from; your true value is measured by where you are going, by what is waiting for you, and by committing to move forward.
Today is the day you can begin to move forward. You don’t have to wait any longer and you don’t have to wait for tomorrow. Waiting is dangerous because tomorrow may never arrive.
Begin today, right now.

Excellent post, Alex! It’s easy how much we forget about the present when we’re so actively working on our goals. Treasure the present and keep your sights on the future.
That, in my opinion, is the crux to making the best of your life…
Cheers,
Ellesse

I agree with you Alex.
I used to live my life in the future, and that brought me not only lots of worries but also pain.
So my motto now is
Plan for tomorrow and don’t forget to savor today.
Best

“..tomorrow is dangerous because it implies today is not the right day to do what’s on your mind.”
That is excellent, Alex.
Thanks, once again.
Peace and wonder,
