Ask for What You Want

Posted on: Friday, December 28th, 2007 Categories: Ask for What You Want, Create Lasting Success, Faith, Law of Attraction, Live Life, Sustain Happiness

The key to having whatever your heart desires – bar nothing – is finding a way to feel good about your Want; not to wish for it, yearn for it, long for it, sigh for it, or feel discouraged about it, but just feel good about it. Remember, need is from fear, desire is from excitement. Lynn Grabhorn

Sometimes when we don’t get what we want is because we forget to ask for it.

Often shame or guilt keeps us from following our hearts’ true desire and passion. From an early age we are told that either (a) we are not worthy or (b) what we want is not possible or practical. This is not always true.

With obvious exceptions, we are able to get what we want when we focus our attention to believing it’s possible to receive it. Holding the image in our mind, of what it would feel like, be like, to have what we want provides the energy to get us closer to where we want to be.

It begins with a thought. Next, comes the courage to express this thought to yourself - not just to think it, but to believe you are truly capable and worthy of receiving it. After that, verbalization of what you want is important. This gives it a sense of reality and clarity – if you are saying it, then it does exist.

Finally, writing down what you want or drawing a picture gives your goal a sense of structure and completeness. In this stage you can fully articulate both what it is and what it looks like to you.

Ask for What You Want, Right Now!

I invite you to tell the Universe what you want. Allow your true wants, your true dreams and your true desires to come out of hiding and to be fully revealed to you and to the rest of the world.

There is great power when you make the commitment to announce to the Universe what has been inside of you for a very long time. When you take this step, you are telling the world you are now ready to receive it.

You don’t have to prove your worthiness or explain why you want it. You don’t have to offer reasons or excuses either. You just have to make the choice, the decision, to be happy. You just have to ask for it.

Here’s how it works:

Compose an email with What I Want in the subject line. In the email simply state what you want. You don’t have to provide justification or explanation – you just have to ask for it. You may also share a picture if you wish.

What I Want: I want to become a full-time blogger, writer and public speaker. I want to work from home and spend my time developing this blog and creating new blogs.

These emails and pictures will be posted in anonymity on The Next 45 Years.

By sharing what you want with others you are indeed making a bold and decisive step. You are “putting it out there” for the World to see and fulfill. You are unlocking your heart’s desire with a positive energy that will flow and vibrate with joy and freedom.

Ask for what you want because it makes you happy. It is not a sin or a crime to dream or to want. Breakthrough the fear and doubt that has been holding you back and let go. This is your life and you might as well create it the way you want it be.

After telling the Universe what you want, spend at least 14 minutes each day vibrating on this thought. When you are driving back and forth to work, taking a shower, or waiting in line at the store, set aside time to consider how it will feel to have what you want.

You don’t have to be concerned with how you will receive it; you just have to focus on the feelings of happiness and joy you will experience when you have it.

Ask for what you want. Open your heart and allow the energy to flow and to create what you want. Do it today, right now. I’m looking forward to the day when you tell us it’s now in your life – it’s not a matter of if, only when.

    Hi Alex:

Great post! So often we try to explain or justify our wants or feel guilty for our desires because we don’t feel that we deserve it. The truth is, to get what you want, you just have to ask for it and firmly believe that you will get it. Thank you for participating in the Carnival of Healing #119. It will be posted on my blog Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul.

    Blessings,
    Hueina
